Call Before You Dig

Many utility lines run underground, and are not always immediately recognizable. Any time you plan a project involving digging into the ground, no matter how “small”, you should utilize Tennessee One Call, the state-wide notification service, at 1-800-351-1111, or simply dial “811”.

Calls made at least three days before digging will allow HUB to come out and identify the locations of any underground utilities at no-charge. All digging in the vicinity of any identified utilities should be done by hand with caution, thus avoiding potential damage, interruption of service, or injury.

Note: Damage to utilities resulting from failing to call ahead can lead to civil penalties up to $10,000, in addition to any actual damages, including repairs (and lost natural gas).
